Senior Product Engineer (Fullstack)
Senior Product Engineer (Fullstack)
Help us build the most loved digital healthcare experience in Europe.
At haelsi, we’re reimagining healthcare: modern, human, and digital.
3 locations, 100+ clinicians, ~30k visits/year — scaling a phygital model (centers + telehealth + digital care programs).
Ambition: reach 1M people in Europe this decade.

🎯 Role Overview
We’re hiring a Senior Product Engineer (Fullstack) who ships fast, thinks in systems, and uses AI tools to improve speed and quality — without losing sight of the human on the other side.
You’ll complement our Tech Lead (Paul): he owns architecture & infrastructure; you own shipping impactful features across our portal, booking system & digital care programs.
You'll:
- Build pragmatic, scalable features (Laravel, Vue/Nuxt, Postgres)
- Help our team maintain healthy systems and pipelines (CI/CD, monitoring, light DevOps)
- Use AI tools (e.g. Copilot, GPT) to accelerate your workflow — not to replace engineering.
- Bias to action: love for customers and our product > love for “perfect” code
👉 No ivory-tower engineering. We test live, iterate, and improve.
🧠 What You’ll Own
1) Product Engineering & Delivery
- Turn clear problems into shipped features.
- Build and extend services & UIs for booking, patient portal, and digital programs. The booking system you’ll improve helps patients access care faster, and the digital programs you’ll build empower clinicians to deliver better outcomes to our patients.
- Write maintainable, production-grade code while optimizing for iteration speed.
- Collaborate with departments to create intuitive user experiences.
2) Reliability & Tooling (Supporting Focus)
- Co-Own CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and maintain containerized environments (Docker).
- Co-Manage basic infrastructure (Hetzner/AWS) and system health (logs, uptime, observability).
- Reduce repetitive work through lightweight scripting and automation.
3) AI as a Developer Superpower (Enabling Focus)
- Use LLMs and tools like Copilot or GPT to generate boilerplate, tests, or docs. We encourage using AI tools like Copilot/GPT to accelerate workflows, but it’s not a requirement to be an expert in AI.
- Apply AI to improve your speed and quality — not to automate others’ jobs.
- Explore new ways to build faster, smarter, and more creatively.
4) Collaboration
- Work closely with our departments (medical, ops, marketing, finance).
- Communicate clearly, speak human (not jargon), and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Review PRs with taste — mentor for clarity, structure, and pragmatic quality.
🛠 Our Stack (today)
- Backend: Laravel (PHP), queues, Redis
- Frontend: Vue/Nuxt
- DB: PostgreSQL
- Infra/DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, Hetzner
- PMS integration: APIs around our patient management system
If you’re strong in adjacent tech, we’re flexible. Pragmatism > purity.
✅ You’ll thrive here if you…
- Have 5+ years building production web products (ideally in startups/scaleups)
- Ship fast with high signal-to-noise (you know where quality matters)
- Are fluent in Laravel + Vue/Nuxt + SQL (or a quick learner)
- Understand CI/CD & containers; keep systems reliable without over-engineering
- Actively use AI tools to code, test, and document faster
- Communicate clearly, push back respectfully, and own outcomes
- Care about patients & clinicians more than perfect abstractions
Nice to have: growth tooling, A/B testing, accessibility, basic security hardening, or healthcare experience.
